The winner of the Integration Foundation Internship Competition 2023
The Integration Foundation (IF) welcomes the winner of the IF Internship Competition 2023. IF held its Annual Skills Conference on the 27th of October 2023. At this conference, an online survey was distributed to students, by participating in the survey, students entered a draw for a bespoke internship opportunity.
The winner of this competition is Ms. Manpreet Sangra. Manpreet completed her secondary schooling at the Soar Valley College, and she is currently pursuing her A-levels at WQE and Regent Group College. She will be interning at the Integration Foundation headquarters.

The Integration Foundation Steps in to Support Education of 5 year old girl child in India
Every child is entitled to receive an education, yet millions find themselves without access to a classroom. Financial constraints and insufficient school facilities often force some children to abandon their education. According to data in terms of education level, 9,30,531 children were identified as out of school at the elementary level and 3,22,488 at the secondary level in India.
The Integration Foundation (IF) has taken proactive steps to assist at least one child in need. The foundation is currently aiding a young girl, Jenny (name altered for confidentiality), from India.
Jenny, who is only 5 years old, recently faced the heartbreaking loss of her mother overseas. Her mother was a migrant worker but had died in tragic and unexplained circumstances. Jenny is currently residing with her grandmother who was unable to pay the cost of her education. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Jenny's grandmother reached us for help. The Integration Foundation has now pledged to sponsor Jenny's education.

Ethnicity Pay Gap Day 2024: The Stark Consequences
January the 8th is Ethnicity Pay Gap day, a campaign started by Dianne Greyson, to highlight the need for looking a pay gaps according to race and ethnicity in addition to the successful gender pay gap awareness. Reported by the BBC, Greyson's work started in 2018 to highlight that, while gender pay gap is now mandatory for large companies in the UK, no such obligations exist for employers related to ethnic origin. Further, the omission overlooks intersectionality, wherein an identity which crosses two or more categories of marginalization may experience compound adverse impact - for example Black women experiencing significantly worse pay gaps than white women or Black men.

UK - Kenya School Partnership
A initiative creating links between schools in the UK and Kenya was launched by the IF on 4th August 2023. The Integration Foundation has now send over IF t-shirts to students studying in Peter Kariuki Primary and Junior School, in Murang’a Kenya. Our goal is to expand this initiative to reach more schools in Kenya in the future.
